Sugar Coated Concrete

Writer's picture: Golden InkGolden Ink

Dear Readers,

Happy Wednesday! The time has come for me to share this week's poem with you!

Day Twenty Eight's Progress:

Today I kind of forgot about the other two poems I was working on yesterday and I focused on finishing a different one. This poem is the one I wrote about yesterday. I mainly did the first draft today since I didn't write much of this poem. Since I got the first draft done, on Thursday and Friday, I will just work on editing the poem and making slight changes. Let me know if you have any suggestions or feedback. Here it is:

Sugar Coated Concrete

What has been gloomy for several days

Is now powdered white perfume

Acting like a soft glaze.

I don’t want to acquire

The taste of bittersweet,

Though the rain

Is really dampening the spirits.

I listen to the sounds

of every old damaged car

or every nice and fancy car

that passes on me.

Careful, I shout

Stay cautious of the rain --

They don’t seem to hear

Louder and Louder

The rain thumps it’s feet on both the car and I --

Only one thing that we share in common

A place below these cold footsteps.

Hope you enjoyed it!
