Pearly White

Writer's picture: Golden InkGolden Ink

Dear Readers,

How do you like todays illustration? My cute little sister made it for today's blog post! Today is the last day of the summer challenge! Next week, I will be introducing the new schedule for the rest of the year.

Day Sixty's Progress:

Today I finished the first draft of a poem based on the idea I thought of yesterday. I will edit it next week since my school is starting, and I won't have much time to write. Maybe I will write a full poem too, I'll have to see how it goes. I plan on naming the poem "Pearly White", but I might keep this phrase in the first line of the poem instead. I think that I like it better when this phrase is apart of the poem. Here it is (without a title):

Pearly white

Lace tablecloths covering hills.

They swim along the path of railroad tracks,

the path where the lake bleeds into the track—

the one with no destination,

but the sole purpose of a home

For the wildflowers

And the buzzing bees,

the small squirrels,

mischievous foxes,

and the mighty Bears.

Not to mention the little butterflies

decorated with intricate patterns,

on their batting wings.

It is the companion,

and guide,

for the swans who comport themselves

with utter dignity.

Blessed with a sharp beak,

they have the ability

to spot good from bad

and bad from good.

Who are these creatures?

They are the birds,

who fly and swim elegantly

no matter the circumstances,

the birds who act like pure royals,

the birds who are equipped

with many skills

that take lifetimes,

for use humans to acquire.

I hope you liked this poem!
