Dear Readers,

Happy Wednesday! You might be wondering why I didn't write yesterday's progress. Well, I didn't write about that day's progress since I did not write anything yesterday. I had sort of a busy day and I couldn't find the time to work on the poems. But, today I will share both poems with you!

Day Fifty Three's Progress:

I didn't work on the poems a lot yesterday which is why I made up for it today. I finished writing both first drafts of the poems today. They definitely need a lot of work, but at least I got something down on the paper. I feel like I am kind of liking the lizard poem more but I will still work on both of them. Right now, I am focosing on getting the rights tone and concepts in both of the poems. Tomorow I will focus more on changing some phrases, individual words, and punctuation. Here are the two poems (without titles):

Poem#1:

The wooden harbor

Keeps the deepest secrets

Of the town —

Deeper than the raging ocean

With its crashing waves.

With each footstep

On each wooden plank,

More and more clues

Are slowly revealed

The feeling of knowing too little

But at the same time, too much

Just enough to know,

That in time,

Everyone will jibe

The hidden truth

Of this old harbor.

Poem#2:

Patrolling the territory,

checking for any wanted visitors

with their quick feet.

Scurrying on the hot ground.

Sharp black eyes,

penetrating through

each and everyone's thoughts.

We seem so intimidated

by their manner —

the manner of these helpless beings.

We take our foot

and stomp

ont their tail. Backtrack —

Little tongues licking up water,

tiny scaled bodies,

trying to camouflage.

Yet we feel less powerful,

we don't thing we're in charge

anymore.

Challenge— we challenge them

when they are defenseless

against us. No limits

to describe our greed

for power.

Nothing but ego can survive

in this cold

environment.

Let me know if you have any feedback for me!
