Digging out potential

Writer's picture: Golden InkGolden Ink

Dear Readers,

Don't be fooled by the title. Don't worry too, you are not going to read about kinetic potential energy in this blog, I have written about a poem's potential.

As always, Tuesdays are all about inspiration. Do you guys ever jot down ideas for poems but never write them? Have you guys ever written a little bit of a poem but then forget about it? Well if you do, today's blog posts is absolutely meant for you. I always do these things when an idea occurs to me and I am in a rush to go do something. I have grown aware of this habit of mine and I would like to tell you guys that if you do this, I have the perfect solution. If you are ever feeling completely uninspired, I like to dig up some old poems that I have never finished properly. I also like to dig out some ideas for poems that I have written in the past. I love doing this because 1) I like trying to figure what my mind was thinking when I wrote half of poem or some ideas for poems, and 2) it really helps because it gives me inspiration or a simple idea to write something if I feel like I don't want to write.

Day seven's progress:

I reread my poem A LOT today. I didn't necessarily like it so I was thinking of ways to describe beautiful music. That's literally all I did today. It's pretty funny because I am writing about ways to find inspiration in this blog, when sometimes I'm really stuck. I wouldn't say I'm stuck because I have no ideas though. I'm stuck because I can't find the write words or phrasings. I have decided that I am going to work on it much more tomorrow instead of today. Maybe something will come to me later on today or early tomorrow.

I really wish it was as simple as this:

(Dring Dring)

Mom: (says to her child) Get the phone for me, I ordered some inspiration.
