Dear Readers,
Some people like to call today Thursday, but really, it’s Friday Eve.
Today I decided to write something a bit different concerning the theme “Writer’s Block”. Last Thursday, I wrote about specific actions you can take to help with writer’s block, but today I would like to give you readers some useful poetry prompts. Even if you don’t particularly like the prompts I will include, I think that they are a good way to deal with writer’s block since you are still writing something. I didn’t exactly write about a bigger way to deal with writer’s block because I have already given you guys some big and useful ways to deal with this and some ways to find inspiration. You all might have not used those suggestions yet, which is why I decided to only give you guys some prompts today (so you can catch up). These are the 5 poetry prompts (you could probably use these for other styles of writing too):
1. Write about an object that brings back several memories and describe those specific memories + how they connect.
2. Write about some idioms and idiomatic expressions and what they might mean to you. An example would be, “you can’t judge a book by its cover”.
3. Pick a color that provokes memories and go from there. How does the color make you feel when you experience it in you daily life? How does the color taste, smell, look like, etc...)
4. Write something about the words you find on street signs or the names of some streets.
5. Choose one of your favorite spices and relate it’s flavor to an event that has happened recently in you life or to any person (yourself, one of you family members, you friend, etc…)
Day Nine’s Progress:
Today I didn’t not change much in my poem. I am actually quite happy with how it has turned out. I only made some minor edits to it like changing some line breaks and punctuation. The one thing I am not too sure about regarding my poem is the title. I’m not exactly sure whether I should keep it this way or maybe change it. Do you guys have any feedback for this week’s poem?
