Dear Readers,
The time to share this week's poem has come!
Day Twenty Three's Progress:
Today I took out some stanzas that didn't really make any sense. Now the poem is pretty short but it is definitely no where near done. I want to add at least three more stanzas to it. I think that the overall concept of the house and its emotions is done. Here is what I have written so far:
Cliffside Wonders
On the edge of a cliff I sit,
Matching the color of the ocean
Feeling the color of the gloomy sky
On the edge of a cliff I sit,
Gazing at lost sailboats at sea
Listening to the cars that rarely pass by.
On the edge of a cliff I sit,
Thinking about how many seconds I have left
Until my doorknobs and bricks break.
On the edge of a cliff I sit,
Listening to the rickety sounds I make
Hoping that they will never cease.
On the edge of a cliff I sit,
Not knowing about the rest of the world
Praying so desperately that my journey does not end.
This poem is about an old house situated on the edge of a cliff above water. This is kind of a random topic but I got the idea and started writing about it. I used repetition in this poem since the first line of every stanza is the same. I played around a little bit with how the poem looks on the page but I decided to just leave it like this. Let me know if you have any feedback or suggestions for me!
I hope you all enjoyed reading it!
